I’ve been contacted by residents of Mount Pleasant Villas and The Grove, who are complaining about cars parking on a green spot that used to be planted with flowers. The residents think the culprits are the builders at the nearby gated development, and I’ve asked the Council’s enforcement officers to intervene and stop the builders abusing this space.
Last night I visited the site and spoke to the residents. They tell me that they used to try to plant and maintain this area, but rubbish dumping and cars parking on the land have put a stop to that. I’ve also asked the Council to check who owns the land (there seems to be some disagreement) and therefore whose responsibility it is to maintain it. I’m hoping it is Council land and we can get them to make improvements – so that people are less inclined to park on it. I’m sure local residents would help.
