The Tree Surgeons are in Victoria Road now. I noticed tree stumps appearing a while back and wondered why this was happening. I could perhaps understand the felling, if the trees were dead or their roots were growing too close to houses, but to cut them down because of pavements seems a bit drastic, as you say. The pavement next to the tree they're cutting right now seems fine. It appears to me someone has just said cut them all down. Planting new trees is of course great news, but does this mean we have to have many years of bleak streets until they grow? Are they going to cut them all down, or just some? I don't recall seeing any sort of pamphlet telling the residents that this was going to happen. It appears this issue is ongoing.
