Although the European elections were on Thursday the votes were not counted until last night (as they can’t count until all parts of Europe have finished voting). So last night I attended the election count for Haringey at Alexandra Palace.
Almost 50,000 votes were cast across the Borough and there were 19 different candidates – so the count took a little while (though sadly over two thirds of the electorate didn’t vote). The results for Haringey are here.
The results were great for the Lib Dems in Haringey – we increased our vote, whilst Labour got their lowest vote share in Haringey ever. The Tories fell into 4th place behind the Greens.
So a big thank you to everyone in Stroud Green who supported us – and to those helped out with campaign. Lets hope there is a general election soon!
